5knot speed limit extended in Menai Strait

With immediate effect, Caernarfon Harbour Trust have extended the 5 knot speed limited section on the Menai Strait. Already in existence opposite Felinheli moorings, it now extends to cover the area fronting Plas Newydd.

This is a 5knot over ground limit, so you can take any counter current speed of tidal flow into your calculations to make a safe steerage. The Harbour patrol boat will observe & only intervene if it is clear you have exceeded a reasonable speed.
